Cora Taylor was selected as this year’s Kiwanis Club of Charlevoix Larry Roth Scholarship recipient. The scholarship is awarded to a student who is already completed at least one year of secondary education. Applicants submit essays on a topic provided by the scholarship committee. This year applicants were asked to write about “Their Passion.” Cora wrote about racing…automobile racing. She is entering her senior year at Michigan Tech and hopes to follow her passion and obtain a job in the automotive racing field. (As a technician/engineer we believe…not a driver but we didn’t actually ask her that question) She is pictured on the left with the scholarship committee head Laura Migda. The committee said that this year’s essays were exceptional.
